Story
My name is Jordan and I love art. I never thought I was particularly good at it, I just enjoyed looking at it. I have always been fairly creative with DIY projects, creating items from nothing, building things just from a picture or an idea. I then got into drip painting during the beginning of Covid when I got laid off from my job. Upon getting let go from a project management job, it seemed like a good opportunity for a career change into something that really appealed to me. I wanted to do something fun with my life and along with art, I really enjoy travel. After I painted my first 3 or 4 paintings I hit the road to Colorado from Georgia and created more paintings along the way. It had been 3 years and probably 60 paintings later, at the end of 2023, I decided I wanted to share them with the world. It has been 4 years now and have had a blast creating these color Rorschach's.
Vision
I have modest and subtle visions of my art for the future. I don't necessarily want fame for my art, I just would like my art shown and hopefully enjoyed. Now, however modest, these paintings are open to becoming so much more. I see my art being displayed on various marketing campaigns or products. I would like to see bigger versions of my art on buildings in public. I would like to hold private art events. I would like to facilitate other artists to collaborate and have a mixed gallery. I also see myself having a gallery of my own. I see myself holding classes on various forms of the drip arts I have used, to teach anyone interested that, “anyone can art”. I don't plan to get rich from this business. The plan is to be able to live comfortably while doing what I love full-time…Euphoric Drips.

Acrylic Paint on Canvas Frame
Pendulum/Splatter Method
$72 @ $0.5 per square inch

1 was created with defining contrasts of red to white, red to black and black to white. I placed the canvas on the floor and poured various colored paints on the canvas and then let it dry. This one started as a pendulum swing that failed and ended up just getting paint dumped on a canvas on the floor. This was the first painting to ignite the flame for all my other pieces, 1.

2 is the 2nd drip painting I did. It has a calming effect to me with the yellow and grey combination. This was done with the pendulum method. I fixed a string to the ceiling in my garage and attached a red solo cup to the string. There's a hole poked in the bottom of the cup with a piece of tape over it. This holds the paint in the cup until I am ready to use it. I then placed the canvas on the ground and filled up the cup with various paints. Once I have the paint loaded up, I release the tape and spin it around the canvas. This allows the paint to flow in a pattern while the cup dangles in motion around the canvas. After the grey spun, I filled the cup with yellow and did the same thing. Some of the most fun methods require a decent amount of prep and setup. This one reminds me of Saturn's rings.

80’s Moth. A nice contrast of the blues, yellows and blacks. The shapes and colors combined give this an 80’s feel. This was done on the drill method. I made a jig to fix the canvas to a drill attachment to be able to spin faster than a cake turner. The drill method is great but also extremely messy. The yellow moth looks as if it is flying back in time into the 80’s.

Antarctica has a simple mix of white and 2 shades of blue. The simplicity and vibrancy of the blue to white creates a smooth visual contrast. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. The vibrant blues in this one makes it remind me of a cold and harsh but beautiful frozen environment, in this case snow, glaciers, blue everywhere, Antarctica.

90's Sitcom has a bright blue and dull purple that clash well together. The added black adds some texture and depth to this painting. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. The color combination in this painting reminds me of a 90's sitcom I used to watch as a kid, Saved by the Bell.

Banquet Ronald has quite a few layers and attempts. It started with grey as the base. You can see it trying to come through in the upper corners. What started off being dark and dreary, ended up being quite flamboyant. The red and yellow layering themselves over the white and the small hues of blue coming in at the bottom. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. Immediately after seeing this, I saw Ronald McDonald's top hat, as if he were attending a McDonalds Banquet. There he is, Banquet Ronald.

Blending has an almost trippy mesmerizing feel. I think due to the pinks and cream colors being very similar in shade. This was done on the drill method. I made a jig to fix the canvas to a drill attachment to be able to spin faster than a cake turner. The drill method is great but also extremely messy. This is called Blending because the background cream color is almost identical to my current wallpaper and it always blends in very well wherever I put it.

Ballerina started with gray and just did several layers and spins with red and white as well. I like the accidental pinks coming through from using red and white. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. I see 2 different ballerinas in this image. They are different colors and shapes and dancing together beautifully. If you look closely you can see the flow of the pinks and whites. Their movement is mesmerizing.

Blue Cardinal has some interesting colors and movements. I used yellow, black, teal and red in a separated paint cup. The paint pour cup has 4 sections of holds for various colors while doing a simultaneous pour of all the colors. The result can be quite mesmerizing. I did the paint pour cup while spinning the cake turner. I improved on this cake turner to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. In the center of the spin I see a Blue Jay with the blues and a Cardinal with the reds, Blue Cardinal.

Austin Pollock was created with red, white, blue and black. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. Initially this was a colorful mess. I placed it aside wondering what I was going to add to it while I worked on another painting. After looking at it some more, I decided to keep it. I called it Austin Pollock for it looks like it came out of an Austin Powers movie that Jackson Pollock painted.

Blue Hole is a combination of mellow and bright with grey undertones and the yellow and blue shining through. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. This was done with some of my favorite color combinations. This reminds me of the marine sinkhole off the coast of Belize. The gray center is the actual sinkhole with surrounding waters and islands.

Ultrasound was another painting I was trying to use the last of my colors on before I purchased new paint. I had mostly black and teal remaining when I did this, with several layers and spins. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. The colors blending on this make it appear to be what looks like seeing a brand-new baby for the first time on an Ultrasound.

Happy Thanksgiving used a diluted white that had a very little bit of silicone in it as well. This created the cells located in the center of the painting in the gray. The subtle gray really allows for the orange to pop in this painting. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. Happy Thanksgiving was painted a couple weeks prior to Thanksgiving and just seemed appropriate.

Canyonland has multiple layers spun. Some layers dried and topped again creating the stacked orange on blue and stacked green on orange. This was done on the drill method. I made a jig to fix the canvas to a drill attachment to be able to spin faster than a cake turner. The drill method is great but also extremely messy. This is called Canyonland because I painted this after taking my dogs through the Canyonlands of Utah. I picture myself standing down into the canyons under a tree and looking up at the clouds and the beautiful blue sky. This painting was published in an online art magazine in Colorado in 2021.

Caribbean Sunrise was created with several layers of black, teal, yellow and white. The consistency of the white and yellow were much thinner than the other colors so it created a cell-like effect, creating circles. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. I didn’t like this one originally and almost re-did it. It took a while and upon taking a photo of it, hoping it was going to grow on me, I saw the pebbles. Then I saw the sunlight coming through and then the waves washing ashore with the pebbles and sand at the bottom. It took a while to see it, but I’m glad I kept it as it takes me back to seeing a Caribbean Sunrise.

Christmas Spirit looks just like a beautifully decorated door wreath, welcoming you in. Happy Holidays!

Close Encounters required a few layers of yellow, black, and grey with some added red and teal in there as well. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. Daffodil has a blend of yellow and gray with a few hints of white scattered about. The varying viscosities of this painting make the cells appear and separate from the other paints surrounding it. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. This was another painting I almost re-did. It took several times to get this one where it was acceptable. I just left it thinking I was going to re-do it eventually. However then as I was getting ready to take a photo, it clicked. This is a beautiful flower, with the cells acting as pollen. This is a Daffodil.

Davy Jones was a good layered mix of gray as a base and with the red and white creeping to the edges. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. When I was done with this painting and as it was still wet, there was a distinct and very obvious Davy Jones from P.O.C. His tentacles hung below his pirate hat. However when the painting dried the drip ended up flattening out and getting rid of the white "tentacle" lines. I still see a cowboy hat or Mr. Fudd but he remains Davy Jones.

Exploding Sunflower was different, in a sense that it was almost erratic with the colors. The oranges and yellows clashed and then tried to blend in with the black. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. Initially I saw this as an exploding sun and was still naming it and considering "Big Bang" but then I got reminded about a sunflower and now I can't un-see the sunflower. So now it is, Exploding Sunflower.

Fargo, similar in color and style to Austin Pollock. It is very simple, yet modern. The red, blue, black, and white create an interesting relationship in this painting. Frozen Runner was created with a teal background. I wanted to leave the focus on the teal with minimal hints of dark blue and black. The white was meant to flow through the blue end to end. The different viscosities of the thinner white to the thicker blue, created the circles and cell-like effects. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. I see a runner, mid-stride in the air. They are running through extreme temperatures. I wanted to call this one Cool Runnings but It’ll be Frozen Runner.

Growth Graph got its colors and shapes from a paint pour cup that has 4 different sections. The bulk of the paint in the separated cup was black. Grey and red were trying to come through. This was a vertical or diagonal pour. I leaned the canvas against a wall at an angle so the paint wasn't to drip too quickly. I call this Growth Graph because it reminds me that you can never get ahead without risk, pain, suffering, sacrifice. All of that struggle is represented within the red.

Happy Accident was just that, happy. The orange and blue provide a really nice contrast to the black and make this smiley face pop with enthusiasm. This was done on the drill method. I made a jig to fix the canvas to a drill attachment to be able to spin faster than a cake turner. The drill method is great but also extremely messy. Happy Accident was a total accident and I couldn't be happier about it. A friend gave me a perspective that I enjoy seeing now. It is a woman standing from a side view with long black hair flowing upwards. However, I see a winking smiley face always telling me to have a good day. What’s your interpretation?!

Mama has a bright feel to it. The teal and yellow blend really well into this painting. The black provides a nice contrast to the brighter colors. This painting was made via the rotational method. The rotational method is just placing the paint on the canvas. Then before the paint dries, pick up the canvas and move it around so that the paint can let gravity take control. My grandmother, Mama, was obsessed with elephants and it reminds me of her. This one is for you, Mama.

Joker took a long time of several layers of green, purple, black and hints of teal. Several spins and pours later, you get a defined separation of the black to green to purple to black. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. The purple and green remind me of The Joker from Batman. Ironically the separation of the colors here almost makes the black appear to be a bat as well. The colors prevail over the black on this one making it remain, Joker.

Hippie Chick was initially very dark. I tried to paint this one several times with different darker colors and it wasn't turning out how I liked it. When there's a failed painting, it's just an opportunity to create a new and better one. After wiping off the fail, I used the existing darker colors as a background and you can see it coming through on the corners. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. This was an experiment with bright colors and I think the pink is a good backdrop for the orange and yellow to create their shapes. There are so many things I see in this simple image, a turtle to mention one. However these colors just remind me of someone, a cool, Hippie Chick.

Kinich Ahua has some interesting movements and shapes with the teal and white contrasts as well as the grey and teal contrasts. The hint of the darker blues coming through to add some flavor. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. This reminds me of the Mayan culture and their symbols. In this case, I think this looks just like an emblem I’ve seen somewhere of the Mayan God of the Sun, Kinich Ahua.

Metamorphosis has varying layers and viscosities, making the colors easier to separate naturally. It started with a black base and then layered with teal and white. Then started adding in layers of yellow and dark blue. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. Initially it took me a while to come up with a name for this. It almost felt forced. Then as I was about to place it aside for later, it clicked. This is a butterfly that just went through Metamorphosis.

Micro started with gray as the base on the canvas and then several layers of red and white with several spins to achieve the fine details within. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. It looks like a microscopic element. When peering closely into this you get to see all the little fine details buried within sections of this painting. Initially I didn't like this one and was going to paint over it. I waited a few days as it dried, looked at it again and now I can't stop looking at it. To this day it remains one of my favorites.

Toxic 4-Square was just using up the last of my orange and black. I appreciate the color contrast of the two. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. This was kind of a fluke painting and didn’t really mean to do it. I was using up the remaining paint, put a funky pattern on there and did a quick spin. It reminds of a toxicity sign you would see on a truck carrying volatile waste but more Halloween vibes, deemed Toxic 4-Square.

Peaches & Cream has so many layers of varying colors. I used pink, cream, orange, brown and white. This was done on the drill method. I made a jig to fix the canvas to a drill attachment to be able to spin faster than a cake turner. The drill method is great but also extremely messy. The colors on this remind me of peach pie a la mode or a peach shake, so it is Peaches & Cream.

Peru was made by placing orange, blue, green, and yellow into quadrants on the canvas and then spun. This was done on the drill method. I made a jig to fix the canvas to a drill attachment to be able to spin faster than a cake turner. The drill method is great but also extremely messy. This is from my second set of paintings as I started to get more involved. The way the colors blend but also work so well running alongside each other makes this painting one of my favorite originals. It reminds me of the Rainbow Mountains in Peru. They look just like it with color and shape, so it is deemed Peru.

Phoenix is filled with fiery red and transitions from the red to the black outline. This outline blends into the white background and makes this bird pop. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. This one I see a majestic bird coming out of the light with his initial spread of the wings. This reborn bird makes this painting Phoenix.

Predator started with a green and white background. After several spins I added in the layered blue, white and red on top of the green. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. This painting reminds me of The Predator movies. They are mostly in a jungle and have thermal imaging to see their prey. This painting is the first person view of The Predator.

Pink River used a blend of red and white, and pink and green. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. The contrast and flow of the pink to green is what catches my eye. Feast your eyes upon the aerial view of the lush surroundings of the Pink River.

Salmon was one of the originals on my second set of drips. I don't normally use more than 4 colors on one painting but this one had yellow, black, white, gray and pink. The viscosity of the yellow and black were different from the other colors, creating a separation in some areas and some cells in other areas. This was done on the drill method. I made a jig to fix the canvas to a drill attachment to be able to spin faster than a cake turner. The drill method is great but also extremely messy. I didn't like this one originally, but after growing on me, it is one of my favorites from the original collection. This is called Salmon because it reminds me of salmon skin with the pink and the black spots. I keep this one in my kitchen to remind me to eat better, in this case, Salmon.

Sonic has some vibrant colors with a gray back. This allows the yellow, teal and red to really pop. The bright colors also clash with each other for a hard contrast. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. This little creature looks exactly like a hedgehog to me, so he is Sonic.

Steven Tyler started with an orange and black background. After spinning a few times, I realized the black opening in the middle could resemble a mouth, so I placed white dots alongside each other to resemble teeth. After spinning the teeth, I had to add red for a tongue. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. The tongue ended up looking like a jellyfish. However, this remains a big mouth shouting out the lyrics to "Dream On". Get it Steven Tyler!

Sweetgum has some interesting color combinations. The burgundy/dark red clashes with the purple in this yellow base painting. This was done on a cake turner that I improved on to fit the canvases. It needed to be stable enough to hold the canvas along with not flying off when spun. If you live in the south, you either know about or have stepped on one of those spike balls that fall from the large trees. Those are seed capsules from the tree of a Sweetgum.
